An exhibition about personal and family life in the shadow of reserve duty.

Nice to meet you. I’m Avigail Sarid, wife of Hadar and mother of Netzach, Noam, Shaked and Re’em. A Jerusalemite, always.
Watercolour is a mirror of the soul. It brings us face to face with the deepest places inside us, and my work looks for truth, purity, clarity, and the search for an endless light.

I’ve held a brush since childhood. It’s the language I’ve used to make sense of the world around me. I found my way to watercolour almost cosmically, after my eldest daughter was born and I became a mother. I realised that life’s new challenges were drawing out my work at full strength.
My work moves between a few themes. Family: the people close to me, our shared stories and the ties between us, which I interpret through family and single portraits. Belonging, and the idea of home in all its meanings. And of course Jerusalem, my birthplace, which I paint through its buildings, its alleys and the stories they reveal.

“A moment when I remembered not only how to keep creating, but why.”
From what I wrote after the opening of “War on the Home”, 2026From a gallery in Tel Aviv to the Jerusalem Biennale and the State Comptroller’s Office, my paintings are shown in places where they touch people.
From a gallery in Tel Aviv to the Jerusalem Biennale. Three of the four exhibitions are named after home.
